Mrs. Jana Kelecsenyi – Fund raising Manager UNICEF SLOVAKIA: Mrs. Kelecsenyi informed about the activities of UNICEF Slovakia, their methods of fundraising and worldwide projects. They also do local projects within Slovakia. A fruitful discussion arose and we were also able to collect new ideas of how to do fundraising – besides organizing a ball...

Program

Christmas stands: all three RC will participate in organizing Christmas stands, RC Bratislava will operate the stand C10 for the complete duration and RC BA Danube and RC International will share the booth C9. Stefan Petó volunteered to organize our attendance with Rado Simon of RC Int. – Thank you Stefan!

Tomas Osusky reported on the organizing of the annual Rotary Ball at Crowne Plaza on February 4, 2012. The first estimate of budget foresees costs of cca. EUR 50.000,-. The cost per ticket according to Tomas should be around EUR 150,-..Klaus Pilz commented that this is out of reach and that the given parameters have not been respected. It will be very hard to find sponsors this year and due to financial and economic circumstances, the costs must be lowered significantly. It is questionable if we need a Big band, moderators, etc. There is room for improvement, especially taking also into consideration that the cost of the Ball 2011 of EUR 52.000,- were criticised by the other clubs.

Regarding the presentation of the Minister of Agriculture, Bodo has received only 11 registrations. None of the other RCs has registered, so we keep it amongst us and will also invite our spouses. No extra arrangements with the hotel will be necessary, the schedule will be changed in that way, that we first do dinner and then start the presentation and discussion. Bodo to invite Rotaract.

Roman reported on Camps and exchange students – see also his mail to all of us.

Heinrich reported that the GSE team is back from Brazil and that for next year he has also someone to attend. Unfortunately the situation about financing GSE teams is unclear and Roman will contact George Podzimek to obtain the latest information to report back to us.
