From 16 to 18 May 2025, Rotaractors from across the district gathered in Ostrava for the annual Rotary District Conference – and what an inspiring weekend it was!
The conference officially opened on Friday evening with a welcome toast with Rotary 2240 District Governor Josef Melecký on the rooftop terrace of the City Campus at the University of Ostrava. It was a memorable start to the weekend, offering a scenic view of the city and a great chance to connect with fellow Rotaractors and Rotarians.
Saturday was the main day of the conference. The morning program was shared with Rotary and featured joint sessions, followed by a separate Rotaract section. Speeches were delivered by District Rotaract Representative Jakub Machovec, District Secretary Hleb Tkachenko, and ERIC CZ’s Alexia Klie (via video message). A number of important topics were discussed, including progress on the upcoming official Rotaract website, financial results from REM Prague, and the election of new district officers.
The conference concluded with the announcement of the results of the District Challenge. We are proud to share that Rotaract Club Hradec Králové placed second overall and was awarded the title of Most Responsible Club – a recognition of our commitment to administrative excellence, regular project work, and transparency in club operations.

In the late afternoon, participants had the opportunity to explore Ostrava through guided tours of the city and the iconic Lower Vítkovice industrial area.
