Dear friends,

Many of you have participated in the PETS/DŠS conferences in Olomouc in the past. The very first one was held in honour of our friend Vladimír Adámek – and this year marks ten years since then. Some of you may still remember two participants who entertained you with tales about Haná customs, traditional costumes, and everything associated with Haná.

Honza Krejčí and his friend Mira are co-authors of the book "Malé královské sênek", which is a retelling of Exupéry's Little Prince in the Haná dialect. This book was made possible through the support of Martina Dlabajová, also a Rotarian, who has long been helping to translate the Little Prince into various dialects.

As you may have noticed in the latest edition of Rotary Good News, Honza Krejčí together with Martina Dlabajová organised a special flood relief event last year. Through the sale of a special flood edition of the book, they managed to raise 100,000 CZK to assist the towns of Litovel – Tři Dvory and Vápenná, which were affected by the September floods in the Olomouc region.

These floods were comparable in many ways to those of 1997, and for this reason, in collaboration with the RC Olomouc, we have decided to reach out to you, friends in Rotary, with another flood relief project.

How can you help? By purchasing the book "Malé královské sênek" for a minimum amount of 350 CZK through RC Olomouc. The proceeds from the sale (after expenses) will be donated to assist areas in the Olomouc region that have been and, unfortunately, will continue to be affected by floods.

Yes, you may find the book cheaper online, but purchasing it from us means you will receive it signed by the authors – and more importantly, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you've contributed to a good cause. That satisfaction is priceless.

How to order the book? If possible, please order collectively for your entire club – by 8th March 2025 from the president of RC Olomouc, Jan Krejčí. The books will be handed over during the PETS conference in Olomouc.
