As part of the accompanying program of the 2024 District Conference in Bratislava, participants and friends of Rotary enjoyed an excursion to the Gabčíkovo Water Dam VDG. A total of 31 participants from 11 Rotary and Rotaract clubs in the district had the opportunity to embark on a comprehensive tour of this unique hydro-engineering marvel on the Danube River.
On June 15, 2024, in the enchanting surroundings of the monastery church in Jasov, the 15th anniversary edition of the "Praise of Mutuality" benefit concert took place. The event was organized by the Rotary Club of Košice Country and was held under the patronage of former President of the Slovak Republic Rudolf Schuster, President of the Košice Self-Governing Region Rastislav Trnka, the town of Moldava, and the Governor of District 2240, Katarína Čechová.
The second Wednesday in June became a day of inspiration and lively discussions during the second Alumni Association Happy Hour. Members gathered to find answers to questions that often resonate in corporate and professional environments: When and how should one present their own idea? Do companies desire innovation? Who should we offer our ideas to, and how? How should we deal with rejection, and what is more challenging – rejection or silence?

Perhaps every Rotarian knows that Polio Plus aims to eradicate polio worldwide. But not everyone may be familiar with the meaning of "Plus" in this context.
Everyone attending the district conference on May 18, 2024, in Bratislava had the opportunity to see the performance of INBOUNDS (exchange students who came from abroad). And there was a lot to see! Their performances were as diverse as the countries they represented.
The show featured national and international dances, singing, guitar and clarinet.
The audience applauded the students not only for their performance but also for how bravely they adopted (some even mastered!) the Czech and Slovak languages.
Thanks for the preparation of the cultural programme go to the management of RYE, Mirek and Ondrej, and of course, ROTEX!
The meeting of outbound and inbound students of District 2240 took place at the traditional location in Křižanov on 31st May – 2nd June 2024.
Orientation meeting IV is an irreplaceable opportunity for sharing experiences and providing information to all our students. At the event, outbound students participated in a full day of activities, teamed up with inbound students from the countries they will travel to. They learnt useful information about their destination, the country that will become their new home for a year.
The meeting was held in a relaxed atmosphere, and we believe that in addition to gaining the necessary information and sharing experiences, new friendships were also formed.

The last meeting of inbounds in D2240 for the year 2023/2024 started on Wednesday evening. Thirty-six students, a dozen of Rotex members and, of course, a few Rotarians gathered in Lednice for this occasion.
The program was packed from the very first day. After a communal dinner, a certificate ceremony was held for all the participating exchange students. The ceremony was all the more special with the personal attendance of the Governor of D2240, Katarina Čechová. The garden of Lednice Castle served as the perfect venue for the event.
