Rotary Club Prague International invites all clubs from District 2240 to participate in a ceremonial tree planting in honor of 100 years of Rotary in our countries. The event will take place symbolically on October 28, 2025, in Vestec near Prague.
The year 2025 marks the centenary of Rotary in the Czech and Slovak Republics. This celebration honors not only Rotary’s history but also its values: service, democracy, freedom, and resilience.
Rotary was banned twice during the last century – by the Nazis and the Communists – but always came back stronger. We now wish to express this strength and continuity through a living memorial – the Rotary Alley of Czecho-Slovak Statehood.
When and where?
Tuesday, October 28, 2025 – Czechoslovak Independence Day
Vestec near Prague
The alley will consist of 100 trees, each dedicated to an inspiring individual – a Rotarian, humanitarian, or community leader who contributed to society.
The project is organized by RC Prague International in cooperation with Nadace Partnerství, the municipality of Vestec, and the Slovak Ekopolis Foundation as part of the Cycling for Trees initiative.
How to participate:

If selected, your club will be invited to sponsor the tree for CZK 5,000, covering planting and care
