Rotary Club Bratislava Danube Supports Ukraine

Rotary Club Bratislava Danube in cooperation with Rotary Club Kyiv-Sophia support projects for Ukrainian children and youth affected by war – bringing hope, education, and opportunities to those who need them most.

Members of Rotary Club Bratislava Danube (RCBD) have not remained indifferent to the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine. In partnership with Rotary Club Kyiv-Sophia, they are making a tangible contribution to easing the suffering of children and young people in Ukrainian cities.

The initiative came from Dr. Anna Kostetska, a Ukrainian physician and member of RCBD who has been living and working in Slovakia with her family. Thanks to her efforts, Slovak and Ukrainian Rotarians joined forces to focus on supporting educational and extracurricular activities for children affected by the war.

During 2024 and 2025, RCBD raised a total of EUR 16,192, thanks largely to the generosity of Hollen Holding. The company’s direct financial contribution, their benefit concert, and donations from RCBD members made it possible to fund a variety of meaningful projects.

The supported initiatives include recreational and educational camps for war-affected children, insulation of community spaces used for extracurricular activities, purchase of sports and learning materials, and rehabilitation programs for children with disabilities.

RCBD members are determined to continue this humanitarian mission and are currently organizing another voluntary fundraising campaign to keep supporting those in need.
