On September 13, 2025, the representative halls of the Lobkowicz Palace in Prague hosted the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the first Rotary club in the territory of today’s District 2240 – the Rotary Club of Prague. The event took place under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel. The festive day connected history, the present, and a vision for the future, and became an exceptional occasion where Rotarians from the Czech Republic and Slovakia gathered together with distinguished domestic and international guests.
Rotary Club Prague International invites all clubs from District 2240 to participate in a ceremonial tree planting in honor of 100 years of Rotary in our countries. The event will take place symbolically on October 28, 2025, in Vestec near Prague.
We invite clubs and officers of District 2240 to promptly submit nominations for our candidate to the Rotary International Council on Legislation.

During the first autumn weekend of this year, the historic town of Kroměříž became the focal point for a gathering of inbound students on the Rotary Youth Exchange Czechia programme. The three-day Orientation Meeting offered a rich programme packed with education, team-building activities and the sharing of experiences. Running in parallel was a meeting of Rotarians and Saturday training for Youth Exchange Officers (YEOs).
I can still remember the moment I was leaving Prague. I will never forget it. My stomach was in knots, my hands were trembling, yet I kept trying to look as though everything was fine. That nervous feeling remains inside me even now; when I think back, I can almost feel it in my body again. The moment you pass through the turnstiles, it starts: the silence, the solitude — completely different from what you know at home, a kind you cannot grasp until you live it. Suddenly you realise you are entirely on your own.
The end, the curtain falls - we can go home, quite literally. Inbound students, pack your suitcases, check in online, have a good cry, and take your seats on the flight back to your homeland. The 2024/25 exchange programmes have finished, bringing to a close the most beautiful year I have experienced so far.
You are warmly invited to the celebratory charter marking the 100th anniversary of Rotary in Hungary, taking place on Saturday, 29 Nov 2025 at the Eiffel Art Studios in Budapest.
At the beginning of September, the Romanian city of Iași hosted the Rotary Youth Exchange conference for Europe, the Eastern Mediterranean and Africa (EEMA).
The event was attended by 159 participants from 29 countries and 77 districts. The largest delegations came from Brazil (36), Mexico (16), Taiwan (11) and the USA together with France (10). Our district D2240 was represented by four delegates, three of whom were from Slovakia.

Dear Rotarians, dear friends,
It has now been 30 years since the Rotary Club of Třebíč was re-established. During this time, we have achieved much that has benefited those in need of our assistance - be it support for people with disabilities or the encouragement of young students. Our 30th anniversary celebration is a rare opportunity to look back and reflect on our history.
We therefore cordially invite you to the official gathering marking this milestone, to be held on 18 October 2025 in the Stone Hall of the Vysočina Museum in Třebíč. The event will be accompanied by a rich programme, including the theatre performance “Zmrazovač - Il Congelatore” and a guided tour of Třebíč, taking in the Basilica of St Procopius.
The invitation with the full programme and registration form is enclosed.
With warm regards,
Marie Smrčková
President of RC Třebíč 2025/26
