Dear Trainers,

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you on your election to the roles of club President and Secretary for the Rotary year 2026/2027. A prerequisite for successfully taking up these positions from 1 July 2026 is the completion of PELS (President Elect Learning Seminar) and the District Training Assembly.

As you have already been informed in previous communication, PELS and the District Training Assembly will, as is customary, take place at Hotel Flóra in Olomouc on 20 and 21 March 2026.

Together with the district team, we are currently preparing the PELS programme, which I trust will bring you plenty of inspiration and will serve as an important aid in carrying out your roles in your clubs. You will receive the detailed programme in the coming days.

As is customary, PELS will be held in conjunction with the District Training Assembly (DŠZ), where we will discuss plans for the upcoming Rotary year, review the proposed budget, examine the financial results for the year 2024/2025, and learn about the nomination of the District Governor for the year 2028/2029. At the DŠZ, club representatives will vote on key items concerning the district’s future. Clubs are represented in voting at the DŠZ by the Presidents-elect for the year 2026/2027 or by the Presidents currently serving in office in the year 2025/2026. Another member of the club may also represent their club and vote at the DŠZ, provided that they submit a written power of attorney granted by their club President at registration.

Enclosed with this invitation are questionnaires, which we kindly ask you to complete so that we can arrange the optional programme on Friday 20 March 2026, note your catering preferences, and above all correctly prepare the lists and attendance sheets for PELS and for the DŠZ. Accommodation

Each participant must arrange their own accommodation reservation at Hotel Flóra. As every year, the hotel is offering us discounted room rates, but only until 27 February 2026. After this date, accommodation can be booked only subject to availability and without the discount. When making your reservation, please quote the password “PELS” by 27 February. Reservations can be made in two ways: by email at hotelflora@hotelflora.cz or by telephone on +420 585 422 200.

It is not possible to make a reservation via booking systems or the hotel’s website, and the discount cannot be applied that way.

Accommodation for Assistant Governors, members of the district team and trainers involved in preparing and delivering PELS and the DŠZ is covered by the district; however, each ADG, district team member and trainer must still make their own reservation. The accommodation costs for incoming Presidents, Secretaries and club representatives attending PELS and the DŠZ are borne by the club.

Each sending club is obliged to pay the participation fees for the incoming President and Secretary. Based on the resolution of the District Conference held in May 2025 in Ostrava, these fees are set at CZK 4,000 (or EUR 165) for two participants from each club and are included in the district’s overall invoice (District 2240) for the period 01-06/2026. This means that no additional fees for two participants attending PELS and the DŠZ are payable if you have paid the regular invoice issued by District 2240 for the period 01-06/2026. Any additional participant must pay their own participation fee of CZK 2,000 (or EUR 82.50) to the District 2240 account.
