Yerevan, Mountains, and Wine Festival – June 2026

Experience the magic of Armenia in June 2026 with history, UNESCO treasures, stunning landscapes, and the lively “Yerevan Wine Days” festival. A short but immersive 3-day journey to Armenia’s cultural and natural highlights, including ancient temples, UNESCO sites, and a festive celebration of local wines.

Day 1 – Welcome to Yerevan

Early morning meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel, followed by breakfast. At 11:00, enjoy a guided city tour through the historic streets of Yerevan, including Arami, Abovyan, and Buzand. Highlights include the Opera and Ballet Theatre and the monumental Cascade, an open-air art deco gallery.

Lunch will be served at a restaurant featuring traditional Armenian cuisine, followed by a short rest at the hotel. In the evening, at 18:00, experience the vibrant “Yerevan Wine Days” festival, a joyful celebration of Armenia’s wine culture.

Day 2 – Mountains, Temples, and Lavash

After breakfast, we journey to the Kotayk region to feel the spirit and beauty of the Armenian mountains. Visit the unique pagan temple of Garni and the rock-hewn Geghard (UNESCO, 4th–13th centuries) in the Azat River valley.

The Garni Temple, built in the 1st century AD and dedicated to the god Mihr by King Trdat I, was almost completely destroyed by a 1679 earthquake but later restored in 1966–1976. Nearby, remnants of an ancient fortress, royal palace, and 3rd-century bathhouse remain.

Lunch with local hosts includes participation in preparing traditional Armenian lavash (UNESCO) and tasting local dishes and wines.

Next, visit the Geghard Monastery complex – literally “Monastery of the Spear,” named after the spear that pierced Christ’s side, believed to have been brought to Armenia by Apostle Thaddeus along with other relics. The complex consists of the main church (Katolike), a vestibule, two rock-cut churches, a chapel, and the Church of the Holy Mother, the oldest building of the complex.

We continue to the Azat Gorge, home to the natural monument “Symphony of Stones” (UNESCO), before returning to Yerevan. The day ends with more festivities at the Yerevan Wine Days.

Day 3 – Farewell

Breakfast at the hotel and free time in the morning. Check-out at 12:00, followed by transfer to the airport at 15:00 for departure.
