Changes in the Rules for TRF Chairs and Announcement of Hana Gamrot's Turn End

The Rotary Foundation has recently approved significant changes to the role of District Rotary Foundation Chairs (DRFC). These changes, effective immediately, aim to encourage new leadership and ensure continuity in governance. Below are the main updates to the DRFC rules and their impact on our district:

Key DRFC Rule Changes

  1. Option for a Fourth Year
DRFCs can now serve a fourth year if additional time is needed to identify and train their successor.

  2. Maximum Term Limit – 4 Years
To allow more Rotary members to take on leadership roles, the DRFC position is now limited to a maximum term of four years.

  1. Dedicated Focus on The Rotary Foundation (TRF)
DRFCs can no longer simultaneously hold other significant roles within Rotary, such as District Governor, Governor-Nominee, Regional Leader, or club-level positions. This change ensures that DRFCs can fully dedicate themselves to TRF goals, including supporting PolioPlus, global grant projects, and the Annual Fund.

  2. Provision for Removal and Replacement of DRFCs
District Governors (current and incoming) now have the authority to jointly remove a DRFC if necessary, without requiring approval from the TRF Board of Trustees. However, TRF will monitor districts with frequent leadership changes.

  3. Rules for Selecting a Successor
In the event of a DRFC’s resignation or removal, the successor will complete the remainder of the current Rotary year and then start a standard three-year term. The selection of a new DRFC must be approved by the current Governor, Governor-Elect, and Governor-Nominee.

  4. Term Limits for Long-Serving DRFCs
DRFCs who have served four years or more must conclude their term by 30 June 2025. Districts are now in the process of selecting new DRFCs for the 2025–2028 term.

Hana Gamrot – DRFC Term Ending by June 2025

Mgr. Hana Gamrot, who has served as DRFC for District 2240 for over five years, will conclude her term by 30 June 2025. In addition to her DRFC responsibilities, Hana currently serves as Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator (ARRFC) for Region 24, where she supports districts and clubs in project development, fundraising, and global grants.

Preparations are already underway for a smooth transition to her successor, who will lead district TRF activities starting in July 2025.

For any questions regarding these changes, please contact the Club & District Support Team at DRFC@rotary.org or reach out to any member of the District Rotary Foundation Committee.
