Rotary Club Bratislava International once again marked the approaching Christmas season by visiting RESOTY, a shelter for the homeless. Members of the club, together with exchange students, brought joy, the aroma of freshly baked wafers, and a festive atmosphere to the community.
During the second week of Advent, members of Rotary Club Bratislava International visited RESOTY, a shelter managed by the resocialization community founded by Anton Srholec. The club was represented by President Andrea Szabóová, along with members Katarína Čechová, Gregory Fabian, Rado Simon, Jozef Suchal, Fero Stank, Marian Hlasný, Juraj Žídek, and exchange students Julia (from Germany, inbound student through Satellite RC Trnava), Mariana (Colombia), Viktória (Taiwan), and Ty (Colorado, USA).
The highlight of the visit was the traditional baking of Christmas wafers, an activity that brought joy not only to the shelter residents but also to the club members and students. The dough and baking irons were provided by Katarína Čechová and Andrea Szabóová, while violin music added a festive touch to the event. Among the students, Viktória particularly enjoyed the baking, and all of them displayed great enthusiasm and skill. Ibrahim, a resident of the shelter, once again proved to be the most adept baker, continuing his streak from previous years.
During the baking session, the RESOTY residents offered light refreshments, which were gratefully received by all participants. The delightful evening concluded with a shared dinner of goulash, prepared by Rado Simon and his wife Blažka, and warmed by the shelter residents.
Through this activity, Rotary Club Bratislava International once again emphasized the importance of solidarity and support for those who need it most.
