Christmas in Prague for Inbounds

The inbound meeting took place from the 6th to the 8th of December, with accommodation arranged at the a&o Hostel Prague Rhea.

The weekend program was packed and full of fun! Upon arrival, we gathered for dinner, and the rest of Friday evening was spent chatting in Czech and Slovak. While neither language is considered easy, some students demonstrated impressive proficiency.

Saturday was dedicated to exploring Prague and discovering Czech traditions. After breakfast in the morning, we set off for a walking tour of the city. Our itinerary included Prague Castle, the Lennon Wall, the Czech Sokol Organization, the Franz Kafka Head, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square, and Old Town Square... and by dinner time, we were back at the hostel.

Saturday evening was spent in a festive atmosphere filled with Czech Christmas traditions: we sang carols, cut apples to reveal their stars, and floated walnut shell candles. Of course, no Christmas celebration would be complete without gifts!

“It was really beautiful,” said Victor, echoing the sentiments of dozens of other students. A big thank you goes to our Rotex members, who ensured a fantastic program and great entertainment!

We look forward to seeing all the inbounds again at the next event, "Winter Třebíč," taking place from 24th to 26th January 2025.

On behalf of RYE CZ, we wish each of you a wonderful and peaceful Christmas and a successful 2025!
