The incoming Rotary International President for 2025/26 Mário César Martins de Camargo, who has circled the globe more than six times in recent years, delivers a powerful call to action: growth, innovation, and unity. His main goal is to strengthen Rotary’s membership base through continuity, partnerships, and adaptation to a changing world. Under the theme “Unite for Good”, he inspires Rotarians to renew their energy and passion for service.
The incoming RI President emphasizes that Rotary’s greatest asset isn’t its history, projects, or global reach—but its people. He sees the care and growth of Rotary’s membership as the most vital task ahead, because it is members who bring Rotary’s vision to life.
His roadmap for Rotary’s growth is built on three pillars: innovation, continuity, and partnership.
Innovation is about welcoming not only younger members but also creating space for older generations seeking new purpose and meaningful connections. Satellite, online, cause-based, business, and passport clubs are examples of flexible formats that help reach potential Rotarians beyond traditional settings.
Continuity is about building on the achievements of those who came before. Successful districts, he notes, share strong and consistent leadership—where governors work together across years instead of working in silos or conflict.
Partnerships multiply impact. Collaboration with foundations, companies, and academia can bring in quality members and strengthen Rotary’s reach. As seen in the fight against polio, where Rotary and its partners have invested over $23 billion—such cooperation is key to global change.
From building wells in Nigeria to post-flood recovery in Pakistan, to economic transformation for 700 families in Indonesia—his message is that Rotary not only serves communities but unites people across cultures and generations.
“Clubs either grow or they fade,” he states bluntly. Succession planning, retention, and recruitment must become core values passed from one generation of Rotarians to the next.
The presidential theme for 2025/26 is a call for unity and service:
Unite for Good.
In a world too often divided, Rotary stands as a beacon of hope and unity.
