Rotary Club Bratislava Danube brought an exhibition of photographs from Ukraine and the dance performance Our Mariupol, performed by children from a children’s home originally from Mariupol, to the Primate’s Palace. The Angels of Light event became a powerful testimony to their courage, creativity and unwavering hope.
On Saturday, 2 May, Rotary Club Bratislava Danube, with the support of the City of Bratislava, organised the Angels of Light event at the Primate’s Palace.
Held in cooperation with Rotary Club Kyiv-Sophia, Rotary Satellite Club Kyiv-Sophia Abroad and the Ukrainian Centre, the event featured an exhibition of photographs from Ukraine and an artistic dance performance entitled Our Mariupol, presented by children from a children’s home who originally come from Mariupol.
The event was attended by Bratislava’s First Deputy Mayor, Tatiana Kratochvílová, and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovakia, Myroslav Kastran.
“These children are true ‘Angels of Light’. Despite everything they have endured, they do not merely wait for a miracle—they create one themselves. Their creativity is a ray of light piercing the darkness of occupation.
“The blue-and-yellow wings unfolding behind them are more than stage costumes. They represent the sky and the sun—and their unbreakable spirit.”
