The fifth shooting competition organised by RC Stupava Záhorie raised EUR 1,590 to support the treatment and rehabilitation of seven-year-old Timejka, who has Down syndrome. The event took place on 17 October 2026 at the shooting range in Gajary and combined sporting competition with Rotary service to the community.
29 shooters tested their skills with short-barrelled firearms on a target 15 metres away. Alongside the host club, participants came from RC Dunajská Streda, RC Nitra, RC Nitra Harmony and RC Český Krumlov. The event was also open to family members, friends and other members of the public.
The participation of a large group of deaf people was particularly significant: they welcomed an upcoming change in the law. From 1 November 2026, provided they meet the other legal requirements, they will be able to obtain a group E firearms licence for sport and a group F licence for museum or collecting purposes. A crew from the Slovak public broadcaster STVR covered the event on site.
The friendly rivalry also had a nice twist: this time our friends from RC Dunajská Streda did not take home all the wins – the main prize went to Juraj Bilický from RC Nitra. The most valuable shared result, however, is the help for Timejka. Thanks go to the organisers from RC Stupava Záhorie, the participants and everyone who contributed.
