Michael Janiak was selected by the Rotary Club of Bratislava International to participate in our Rotary Youth Exchange program in Germany. He is hosted by the Rotary Club Aachen-Nordkreis, a part of Rotary District 1810 - Rotary Youth Exchange Germany.

In his article, Michal reflects on his early days in Germany:

At the outset of my exchange, I felt like a small, inconspicuous piece of a puzzle struggling to fit into my new environment. The language barrier further complicated matters until one day, I came across two boys playing volleyball in the local school sports hall. Their enthusiasm and mutual warmth drew me in, leading me to join their game.

Our afternoon volleyball sessions soon became my beacon of hope. These two boys not only became my teammates but also true friends who introduced me to the German way of life. Through them, I discovered the allure of volleyball.
