My name is Karel Hanáček, and I have devoted my entire life to the field of construction. As a civil engineer, I ran my own business in this industry until the age of 65. Although I am now retired, I remain very active. I manage my properties, travel to explore new countries, play tennis, enjoy recreational golf, and cycle regularly. Additionally, I am a proud member of the Rotary Club of Uherský Brod.

Our club meets every two weeks on Mondays at 5:30 PM at the Hotel Monde in Uherský Brod. We have 13 active members and 2 honorary members. The club was officially chartered on December 10, 2005. We maintain a friendly and cooperative atmosphere and work together to make a positive impact on our region and its residents. Among the events we organize are a sports afternoon for children with disabilities, a football tournament, the annual Rotary Charity Ball, and the St. Catherine’s Fair, with proceeds supporting charitable and humanitarian causes.

What I value most about our club is the sense of frendship and solidarity. We are truly a cohesive team, and this is reflected in the success of our charitable and humanitarian efforts. Beyond our activities, the bonds of friendship and collaboration within the club enrich our personal lives as well.

One of the most significant events organized by our club is the annual Charity Football Tournament, which this year raised an impressive 165,000 CZK. Held in Újezdec near Luhačovice, the event attracted eight teams, including teams from Prakšice, Biskupice, and Pozlovice, a team of sports personalities led by former NHL player Miloslav Gureň, and even two women’s teams of former national representatives. The day was filled with sports and entertainment: players and spectators enjoyed refreshments, children had fun on a bouncy castle, and everyone could indulge in barbecue and roasted treats. A diverse and valuable raffle drew local and visiting supporters who were eager to participate and contribute to charitable causes.

The success of the tournament would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors and collaboration with the Sokol Újezdec sports club, which played a significant role in organizing the event. Key sponsors included Lázně Luhačovice, Hotel Alexandria, Česká zbrojovka a.s., Hotel Pohoda Luhačovice, and UTB Zlín. We owe a heartfelt thank you to all our supporters, whose generosity enabled us to provide truly outstanding prizes for the participants.
