On 16th November, the Rotary Foundation Qualification Seminar took place

On Saturday, 16 November 2024, an online qualification seminar for The Rotary Foundation (TRF), attended by 43 Rotarians from our district.

Participation in the seminar is one of the requirements for club qualification. The additional requirements include:

  • A club contribution to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) over three years, with a minimum of $35 USD/€33 EUR per member,
  • Appointment of a TRF Chair within the club,
  • A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by the club leadership,
  • Settled financial obligations towards the district and Rotary International (RI),
  • Timely reporting.

The seminar was led by the highly knowledgeable Hana Gamrot, who, together with Michal Sláma, Štěpán Malý, and Pavla Bublíková, presented topics such as The Rotary Foundation, District Grants, Global Grants, and the Paul Harris Fellow awards for outstanding contributions to TRF.

The work of The Rotary Foundation members is extensive and cannot be captured in a single article. Therefore, we will gradually introduce you to individual projects and the principles of The Rotary Foundation's operations through contributions (hopefully) in every issue of the Newsletter.

However, I cannot resist sharing a message from Hana:
"We, as Rotarians, can be proud of The Rotary Foundation. It manages our funds very efficiently thanks to an exceptionally well-functioning system of investment and financial growth that has been in place for over a hundred years. The system is highly sophisticated, and the range of Foundation programs is broad—there is truly a lot to cover, so get ready.
