The Advent stall brought joy as well as help

Members of the Rotary Club of Klatovy also took an active part in the city’s events during last year’s Advent season and, for the fourth time, offered visitors mulled wine and non-alcoholic punch. Their stall could be found both at the Monastery Bazaar and at the Klatovy Advent markets. Each day there was a pleasant atmosphere, the stall was buzzing with life, and many customers were already seeking it out deliberately as a traditional part of Advent.

Public interest and friendly get-togethers over a hot drink confirmed that this activity has a firm place among the city’s Advent events. What matters, however, is that it is not only about Christmas cheer—the proceeds from the sale of drinks, the monetary donations received, and the members’ personal contributions are intended for charitable purposes and help where it is needed most.

This year, the Rotary Club of Klatovy contributed CZK 150,000 towards the purchase of a rehabilitation bed for five-year-old Dominik, who is coping with a severe congenital disability. This specific form of assistance is further proof of the club’s long-term commitment to supporting those in need and actively helping to improve quality of life in the region.

A big thank-you also goes to all fellow residents who stopped by the stall and supported this charitable initiative with their contribution. Their generosity clearly shows that they are not indifferent to the fate of children with disabilities, and that in Klatovy there are many people who are happy to donate to a good cause. “It is precisely thanks to this solidarity and willingness to help that the club can continue turning Advent gatherings into concrete, meaningful assistance,” confirms Tomáš Grim, President of the Rotary Club of Klatovy.
