Rotary Club Most Discusses Cooperation on the Restoration of a Historic Grave

Rotary Club Most was approached by representatives of the Sudeten German Association with a proposal to cooperate on the restoration of a historic grave linked to an important figure in the history of the city of Most. Initial discussions took place in Germany and indicated a potential joint project for the coming year.

Rotary Club Most was contacted by representatives of the Sudeten German Association regarding possible cooperation in the restoration of the grave of Karl Blaschka, long-serving Director General of the Most Coal Company (Brüxer Kohlengesellschaft AG), who held this position from 1904 to 1926. The grave is located at the old Most cemetery below the Ressl area.

In December, a visit took place at the headquarters of the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft in Bad Kissingen, Germany, where discussions were held with Mr Steffen Hörtel, Executive Director of the association.

The meeting concluded with an agreement that representatives of the association plan to visit Most during the coming year. During this visit, concrete possibilities for cooperation on this commemorative and historically significant project are expected to be discussed.
