IGFR Nation’s Cup 2026: A New Chapter of International Golf Fellowship

IGFR proudly introduces a new flagship international tournament — the IGFR Nation’s Cup Invitational. The inaugural edition, to be held in Casablanca in 2026, combines team golf competition with Rotary values, national identity, and cultural exchange, aiming to strengthen international fellowship and expand IGFR’s global visibility.

Dear IGFR Members and Fellow Rotarians,

It is my great pleasure to present for your consideration our newest golf competition — the first IGFR Nation’s Cup, a new international event designed to strengthen our fellowship, enhance IGFR’s visibility, and enrich the experience of Rotarian golfers worldwide.

Why a New Event?

Over the years, the IGFR World Championship has continued to thrive and unite Rotarian golfers from across the globe. At the same time, members have increasingly expressed interest in:

  • more opportunities for team-based international competition,
  • events highlighting national identity and Rotarian camaraderie,
  • innovative formats capable of attracting younger Rotarians and prospective IGFR members.

The IGFR Nation’s Cup Invitational responds directly to this demand by offering a dynamic, prestigious, and culturally enriching addition to the existing IGFR event portfolio.

Event Concept

The IGFR Nation’s Cup Invitational will be an international golf tournament featuring eight participating countries, each represented by a team of ten players.

Beyond the sporting aspect, the event aims to promote:

  • fellowship,
  • cultural exchange,
  • Rotary values.

This project offers IGFR:

  1. a powerful new flagship event reinforcing our global identity,
  2. an effective tool for attracting new members by presenting golf as a bridge between cultures,
  3. a platform to celebrate Rotary values — fellowship, service, peace, and international understanding,
  4. increased visibility within Rotary International and the broader golfing community.

Competition Format

Day 1 – Group Stage

  • Eight nations divided into two groups of four.
  • Each team’s daily score will consist of the best eight scores out of ten players.
  • The top two nations from each group qualify for the semi-finals.

Day 2 – Semi-Finals and Placement Matches

  • 1st Group A vs. 2nd Group B
  • 1st Group B vs. 2nd Group A
  • Remaining teams compete for positions 5th to 8th.

Day 3 – Finals and Closing Ceremony

  • Semi-final winners advance to the Grand Final.
  • Remaining teams compete for final rankings.
  • Closing Ceremony featuring national anthems and the presentation of the IGFR Nation’s Cup Trophy.

Selected Golf Courses

The inaugural edition of the IGFR Nation’s Cup will take place on four of Casablanca’s finest golf courses, offering excellent playing conditions and diversity:

  • Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia
  • Prestigia Golf Club
  • PalmGolf (Casa Anfa or PalmGolf Bouskoura – final setup to be confirmed)
  • CGI Golf Course

These venues were selected for their quality, accessibility, and ability to showcase Morocco’s golfing excellence.

Accommodation – Hilton Hotels

Participants will be accommodated at the Hilton Hotel Casablanca, offering premium comfort, modern facilities, and convenient access to all event venues.

The hotel will also host:

  • the welcome reception,
  • evening cultural programs,
  • coordination and hospitality desk,
  • transfers to and from the golf courses.

Beyond the Competition

The IGFR Nation’s Cup will be more than a sporting event.

Each evening, participating nations will present their culture, cuisine, and traditions, transforming the tournament into a true Rotarian cultural celebration.

Additional activities such as:

  • longest drive,
  • nearest to the pin,
  • short-game challenges

will further enrich the participants’ experience.

  • local hosting partners.

Team Identity and National Representation

Each participating nation will be invited to develop its own team uniforms and equipment reflecting national colors.

A discreet national flag or symbol will be required to reinforce the international character of the event while promoting unity and pride.

Financial Model and Budget

The IGFR Nation’s Cup Invitational will operate as an all-inclusive package, covering:

  • accommodation,
  • meals,
  • golf fees,
  • event transportation,
  • ceremonies and organizational costs.

Participation Packages

Participation of Non-Rotarians

To encourage broader participation and assist nations in forming competitive teams, the IGFR Nation’s Cup will exceptionally allow non-Rotarians to comprise up to 40% of each national team.

This approach preserves the strong Rotary identity of the event while opening the door to new golfers who may later become part of our fellowship.
