The very first day of the New Year 2026 marked an extraordinary success for the young Czech talent, eleven-year-old Vojtěch Fišera. On 1 January 2026, the final of the national competition for exceptionally gifted children, Zlatý Oříšek 2025 (Golden Walnut), took place. This prestigious annual event recognises the most outstanding young personalities across a wide range of fields. The live broadcast was aired by Czech Television on ČT2 shortly after noon.

Amid strong competition from dozens of exceptionally talented children from all over the Czech Republic, Vojtěch Fišera achieved first place in his category, earning the gold position.

The 2025 edition of the competition was exceptional not only in the number of applicants but also in the remarkably high standard of the finalists. This makes the achievement all the more meaningful and a source of great pride. Through his victory, Vojtěch once again confirmed that systematic preparation, perseverance and inner motivation can lead to extraordinary results even at a very young age.

The joy of this success is even greater knowing that five Rotary clubs from our District 2240 stood at the very beginning of Vojtěch’s journey and jointly decided to support his exceptional talent. These were Rotary Club Jičín–Nymburk, Rotary Club Pardubice, Rotary Satellite Club of Telč–Prague Golf / NGW, Rotary Club Tábor, and Rotary Club Hradec Králové. Together, these clubs provided financial support of CZK 150,000, designated for his education and further professional development.

Thanks to this support, new and unique opportunities opened for Vojtěch — including a performance in one of the world’s most famous concert halls. On 17 December 2025, Vojtěch Fišera performed on the stage of the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York, an experience that became not only a major artistic milestone but also an unforgettable life achievement.

This story clearly demonstrates that dreams can come true very quickly when a young person has determination, dedication and strong financial partners who believe in them. Once again, Rotary has fully fulfilled its mission — helping others, supporting talent, and creating real opportunities for the future of the younger generation.

Today, Vojtěch Fišera is an inspiration not only to those around him, but also to his peers. He is living proof of a simple yet powerful message: “Nothing is impossible.” We all wish him many more successes, lasting joy in music, and the courage to continue pursuing his dreams. We believe that his story will inspire other young talents to believe in themselves and never be afraid to follow their own path.
