During the Advent season, the Satellite Rotary Club Trnava organised an exceptional cultural and social event that brought together music, the spiritual dimension of a historic setting, and Rotary fellowship. The organ concert held in the Basilica of St Nicholas in Trnava became an unforgettable experience for all those in attendance.

In the magnificent interior of the Basilica of St Nicholas in Trnava, the organ resonated during the Advent season in all its richness and diversity. The concert was performed by Stanislav Šurin, a distinguished Slovak organ virtuoso, concert artist, educator, and artistic director of international organ festivals. He is renowned not only for his technical brilliance but also for his ability to present the organ as a musical instrument to a wide audience—with sensitivity, passion and a deep understanding of its spiritual dimension.

During the concert, Stanislav Šurin engagingly introduced the audience to the rich tonal colours and versatility of the organ, explaining its sound possibilities and its unique role in sacred music. His commentary was further enriched with fascinating insights into the history of the Basilica of St Nicholas, adding another layer to the evening and seamlessly connecting the music with the story of the place in which it resonated.

The Rotarians of Trnava combined this musical experience with a joint meeting with their sponsoring club, Rotary Club Bratislava International, as well as representatives of Rotary Club Zvolen. A particularly welcome addition to the event was the participation of exchange students from the Satellite Rotary Club Trnava and RC Bratislava International, who contributed to the international and intergenerational character of the gathering.

The Advent evening also included an informal get-together in the renovated Jewish synagogue in Trnava, now sensitively transformed into a cultural and social venue known as Synagóga Café. The meeting in this impressive space unfolded in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere and provided a refreshing conclusion to an event that harmoniously combined music, history, spirituality and Rotary fellowship.
