This year once again, Rotary Club Bratislava International continued its heart-warming tradition of supporting lonely seniors. In the pre-Christmas period, club members prepared and delivered Christmas gift packages to residents of the Domov jesene života (Home of the Autumn of Life) on Hanulova Street in Bratislava, reaffirming that compassion, solidarity and service remain at the very core of Rotary values.

As in previous years, we decided to bring some Christmas joy to the “forgotten” seniors living in the Domov jesene života (DJŽ) at Hanulova 7A in Bratislava. During a club meeting in Senec, we jointly prepared and wrapped 30 Christmas gift packages – 12 for men and 18 for women. We also remembered the dedicated staff of the facility, wishing to express our appreciation for their demanding work by gifting them several packages of quality coffee.

We were delighted that this year our initiative was joined by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, Bratislava Branch, which generously donated 20 bottles of premium Slovak mead. These will be used for a festive Christmas toast for both the residents and staff of the Home of the Autumn of Life. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, both on behalf of Rotary Club Bratislava International and the DJŽ itself.

The gift packages and mead were personally delivered on 17 December 2025 by representatives of the club:

We firmly believe that even small gestures of kindness can bring joy, a sense of closeness and human connection—especially to those who need it most during the Christmas season.
