Gourmet Fellowship Kicked Off the New Rotary Year with a Dinner at a Pakistani Restaurant

A successful evening not only for the palate but also for a good cause

The Gourmet Fellowship kicked off the new Rotary year in September in style – with a dinner at the Mailsi restaurant in Prague, organized by the Rotary Club of Prague Golf (RCPG). The evening was further enriched by a talk on life, history, and the economic development of Pakistan by Ahsan Aslam, President of the Czech-Pakistani Chamber of Commerce and a member of RCPG. This gastronomic experience, however, was not only culinary but also charitable.

Thanks to the generosity of the participants and club members, a total of 65,000 CZK was raised and donated to the Rotary Club of Opava as flood relief. Part of the support also went to the ICTUS organization, which was the original intended beneficiary of the evening’s proceeds. ICTUS received an additional 15,000 CZK from sculptor Mr. Maixner from Malá Strana, in appreciation of their work with stroke patients.

Rotarians can look forward to more unforgettable experiences. On 3 December, we will likely host the traditional truffle dinner, and in February, we aim to repeat the successful dinner at Sansho restaurant. At the end of March, after two years, we plan to host the Czech-Slovenian evening once again, featuring a fusion of music, food, and wine. In the spring, I hope to organize an event with the National Team of Chefs, and of course, the traditional combination of golf and gourmet in Beroun will remain a staple.

If you have an idea for an exciting event, don’t hesitate to bring it forward – we are happy to support any great initiative you organize with your club!
